Why our clinic
At True North Metabolic (based in Kitchener-Waterloo, also serving Cambridge and Guelph), we help busy people lose weight safely with a physician-directed plan tailored to their biology and lifestyle. We blend medical care with pragmatic nutrition, strength-based activity, sleep and stress strategies, and coaching so changes actually stick. For the right patients, we offer medication-assisted options (e.g., GLP-1s) with close monitoring to maximize results and minimize side effects. You get clear targets, regular check-ins, and data-driven adjustments so progress stays steady and measurable. If you want a sustainable reset and not another quick fix, this is where your new baseline begins.

How it works
-
We see you for an in-person visit at our Kitchener-Waterloo weight loss clinic. We do our medical intake & testing: history, medications, goals, red flags; targeted labs as needed.
-
Plan built for you: calories and protein targets, meal structure, resistance training you can actually do, sleep routine, and behavior tools.
-
Medication when indicated: options such as GLP-1s considered based on risk/benefit, access, and preferences.
-
Close follow-up: coaching and physician touchpoints for dose titration, side-effect management, and habit consolidation.
-
Maintenance phase: relapse-prevention plan, activity and nutrition guardrails, and periodic metric checks.

FAQ
Do I need a referral?
No, but we do take referrals. Family physicians can fax referrals to (226) 686-0184. Patients can book directly online: https://midtownmedicalcenter.cortico.ca/book/metabolic-health-and-weight-loss/
Are medications required?
No. Many patients do well with structured nutrition and strength programming alone. Medications are used when the benefits clearly outweigh the risks and costs for an individual.

Is the Kitchener-Waterloo weight loss clinic at True North Metabolic only for men?
No, it is for any and all adults and pediatrics as well. We have a parallel men's health clinic which is separate than our weight loss service.
